Past Restoration:
1963 Ford Falcon Sedan Delivery

This 1963 Ford Falcon Sedan Delivery was purchased and restored by the most experienced member of Longlane, LLC in 1971. When purchased, this vehicle had been owned by a furniture company in Lumberton, North Carolina and still had the company's name on the side. The car had a ruined Ford 144 six cylinder and a three speed manual transmission. These were replaced with a bored and rebuilt 260 Ford Fairlane V-8 and a Fairlane automatic transmission and rear-end. The entire front suspension was replaced with V-8 Mustang suspension parts, and air conditioning was added as well. 1964 Thunderbird bucket seats were installed, and an eight-track tape player was installed in a custom fabricated console. Interior trim and insulation were also replaced, and the dash and interior were painted a chocolate brown Oldsmobile paint popular at the time. The exterior was painted with 1969 Ford Meadowlark yellow. Fourteen inch Fairlane wheels and a set of Ford spoked wheel covers were also added. A sub-frame was fabricated and installed to stiffen the unibody frame of the car.

This Falcon was driven for over five years and regularly towed a fiberglass 14 foot runabout. The car was sold to a friend in 1977 and was known to still be running smoothly in the mid-1980's. The last time the car was seen was in 1998 inside a fence. When we tried to repurchase the car, the current owner refused to sell.
