1974 Honda CB200 Motorcycle
|
The youngest member of Longlane, LLC restored this 1974 Honda CB200 motorcycle while in college. When purchased, very little of the motorcycle worked, but the paint and some of the chrome pieces were exceptional. Every single system on this motorcycle was rebuilt and restored, including the strange mechanical disk-brake system that Honda discontinued after this model because of the major maintenance required to keep it functional and therefore safe. New vintage exhausts were installed, new tires mounted, carburetor rebuild kits were installed, the gas tank was coated with aircraft-grade tank liner, an extensive cleaning took place, a new battery was installed with new cables, and every moving piece was cleaned, lubricated, and reinstalled. This motorcycle, due to its small engine size and color combination never sold well, but it has become a collector's item treasured by Honda motorcycle enthusiasts around the world. it was sold on Ebay in 2002 with only 4,678 original miles. The pictures above are of the finished motorcycle. |
